a gentle breeze blew through the trees
the vibrant life stopped suddenly
as people shook each other’s hands
a gathering mainly in black
pondering silence
as they lowered the casket
covered in dirt

and what was buried that day
was full of kindness, was full of beauty
a still loving soul

oppressive silence, captured in fear
nothing to hear, but a violent dissent
two people pushing, unequal chances
and then a climax, of snapping bones

and then it seemed to be a new life
but the heritage was unbearable
instead of walking straight
